Fish (Omega-3)

Consider this your excuse to eat more sushi! Omega-3, which is a nutrient that is high in oily fishes, is known to preserve the collagen in your skin, leaving it more firm and supple than ever. Salmon, tuna (bluefin and albacore), mackerel, and sardines are all proven to have high quantities of this precious omega-3 nutrient. However, one of the easiest ways to increase your omega-3 intake is with a supplement that guarantees the ideal daily dose.

Avocados

Next time you find yourself at the grocery store, do yourself a favor and load up on avocados. Not only is the main ingredient for drool-worthy dishes like guacamole and avocado toast, but this food boasts tons of key vitamins. They happen to be an amazing source of vitamin C and E, two of the main nutrients that protect your skins from damage. Avocados are also rich in healthy fats, which helps your body to better absorb these age-reversing vitamins.

Greens (Spinach, Kale, Collard Greens)

Whether you love them or hate them, this is your gentle reminder that greens are amazing for your health. Dark leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collard greens are loaded with body and skin nourishing vitamins. Plus, these foods contain a boatload of antioxidants that can do wonders in terms of improving skin texture and elasticity. Not one to eat a salad? Try a superfood powder that’s loaded with leafy green nutrients instead.

Almonds

Another powerhouse food source is nuts. Specifically speaking, almonds contain a ton of precious vitamin E. This nutrient is critical when it comes to protecting the skin from damage and diminishing signs of visible aging. The best part of almonds is that there’s no prep required. They are a tasty and nutritious snack that you can bring with you on-the-go. No more excuses!

Green Tea

Don’t bite my head off..but if you really want to nurture your skin from within, consider swapping your morning cup of coffee for matcha. Green tea happens to be packed with polyphenols, an antioxidant that can help lower the amount of sebum (oil) your body produces. In fact, green tea is oftentimes used as a natural acne treatment.

Will you be incorporating more of these whole foods into your diet to promote the health of your skin?
