Yesterday marks the official first day of summer – and I just realized that I haven’t done an updated beauty routine or favorite products in a while. I’m a firm believer in changing your skincare and makeup with the season. It’s hard not to when our skin acts in accordance with the weather. I know my skin gets a little more greasy and I prefer my makeup to be warmer for that sun kissed glow. If you’re looking for new ways to change up your beauty routine, I have some product recommendations you need to try now. Plus, you can get the scoop on my summer beauty update! Most of these are recently launched, so don’t forget to share the good news with your besties!

Dior Backstage Contour Palette

Not sure if you guys remember but I was invited to preview the Dior Backstage collection recently and since then, I’ve been uber obsessed with the Contour Palette. You get four different shades that you can use to sculpt your cheeks to an intensity of your liking. The colors can be mixed together or applied individually. In terms of finish, there’s a mix of matte and shimmer colors, which is what sold it for me. I go back and forth between shimmery bronzers for a luminous effect or matte contouring powders for a true sculpted look. No matter what your preference is, it’s customizable with this one palette! It’s definitely a must have for summer!

Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette

Like the Contour Palette, I also love the Dior Backstage Glow Face Palette. The mix of warm and pearly colors are so gorgeous on the skin. The two darker tones double up as a highlighter and luminous blush – and the darker tan even looks amazing as a bronzer. So with this palette, you pretty much have all your cheek needs taken care of! It’s so beautiful and wearable!

Saturday Skin Waterfall Glacier Water Cream

The first product I always change with the seasons is moisturizer. I mentioned earlier that my skin gets more oily, so I prefer gel or gel cream textures. As a long time fan of Saturday Skin, you can bet I was ecstatic about this new Water Glacier Cream! It’s packed with amino acids and peptides, which all help improve the skin’s texture and moisture levels. I love how this one keeps my skin hydrated without weighing it down!

Shiseido Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Masks

This Shiseido Eye Mask isn’t particularly new, but it seems that eye masks are quite novel for the beauty world. It works the same way a sheet mask does except it is specifically developed for under the eyes. The skin here is more delicate and sensitive than the rest of your face, so brands are creating eye patches packed with amazing ingredients! I’m a sucker for retinol, and these masks really pack a punch when I need a quick pick me up.

Herbivore Jade Roller

New to jade rolling? It’s an ancient Chinese skincare ritual that’s just now being introduced to this side of the world. I love my roots and my heritage so I have to promote jade rolling. Plus, I have been using it for many years and love how it stimulates the skin. This Jade Roller from Herbivore is functional and affordable. Before using it, I like to place the jade roller in the fridge (or somewhere cold). Then, I roll it over my skin after applying a serum or facial oil. It’s an effective detoxifier and de-puffer – great for traveling!

Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water

You guys know that I love tanning without being in the sun. I recently got a sample of this Self-Tanning Water (so cool, right?) and was surprised with the results. The effect is light but gradual and exudes a bronzed glow. I didn’t experience any yucky orange tones or streaks. It also comes in peach and violet colored water for different purposes. The green is perfect for me because it reduces redness and calms the skin.

Dr. Jart Shake & Shot To Go Set

I have used Dr. Jart’s rubber sheet masks for years now and was able to put these DIY rubber masks to the test these last few months. The packing is super adorable, but the results were even better. The kit contains ampoules injected with potent ingredients that either hydrate, soothe, brighten, or firm the skin. Aside from being so fun to apply, they make my skin feel amazing!

Clinique Fresh Pressed 7-Day System with Vitamin C

I have a full review coming up on this product but wanted to prep you guys here. Vitamin C is one of the best skincare ingredients for brightening and re-texturizing the skin. Clinique gives you the opportunity to try it out in this 7-day kit. It’s super impressive and a perfect introductory set as we head into summer.
