I wasn’t always into podcasts or audiobooks since I either like to work in peace or listen to music. However, after so much traveling and searching for productive ways to make time pass, I decided to give them a try and became hooked. There are many types of podcasts out there, but my favorites are empowering in business and in life. I find that podcasts are not only great for helping me dive deep into my purpose but inspire action. So if 2019 is going to be your year and you need some recommendations for podcasts to boost your motivation, below are the only ones you need to know.

1. Oprah’s Master Class

As a business owner, I know that the journey to success often feels like a lonely one. I love listening to Oprah’s Master Class because it’s such a reflection of that saying “good things take time.” Here, you get to hear the greatest life lessons and highs and lows of celebrity figures from various industries. Some of the guests featured get really vulnerable, which is a huge reminder to be patient in the process. Some of my favorite episodes are the one with Steve Harvey and Dwayne Johnson.

2. How I Built This

I could listen to this podcast forever! How I Built This explores the stories and lessons of some of my favorite brands and entrepreneurs. This is another great podcast that proves success is oftentimes a long process. Make sure you listen to the one with Sara Blakely (founder of Spanx) – it’s an older episode but never gets old to hear.

3. The Pitch

Ever wanted to start your own company? The Pitch is a must listen! You get to hear entrepreneurs pitch to investors in real life. I’ve always felt like the best kind of learning is by observation and this one will teach you some hard lessons in selling yourself, pitching, and preparing for the kinds of questions real investors would ask.

4. The GaryVee Audio Experience

If you’ve ever watched Gary on Insta-stories or YouTube, then you know he’s the real MVP. Anytime I feel overwhelmed or overworked, a sliver of Gary kicks my butt into shape. He is so candid, so real, and offers priceless life and business advice every time. No excuses for 2019!

5. GirlBoss Radio

This podcast makes me love Sophia Amoruso even more. First off, I love that she features only women (love the Rebecca minkoff and Emily Weiss episodes) and extracts tons of takeaways on their various careers. The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the 10-15 minute intro which feels drawn out and unnecessary. But after that, it gets really good and always leaves me lighter and inspired.

6. Fohr Cast

If you are an influencer or want to be an influencer, then you’ll love hearing James talk about the industry. I know there are lots of people who cover the influencer industry but no one keeps it as real as James. You guys always ask me a lot about how you can grow your Instagram or become a blogger and I think this is a great place to start. He sometimes brings on key figures to speak about their experience and the conversations are always extremely valuable.

7. Happier

If you’re constantly frazzled, then you’ll love all the happiness and organization hacks discussed in this series. Just one episode will get you thinking about the small changes you can make to improve the quality of your life. It’s so easy to listen to and forces you to get reflective and think deeper.

8. The Barney’s Podcast

For an inspiring podcast with more of a fashion focus, The Barney’s Podcast probably offers the freshest perspective that goes beyond clothes and making money. The impressive talent featured are so passionate about what they do, which is always so refreshing to listen to coming from Instagram. Make sure you download it and listen to the Victoria Beckham and Gucci Westman episodes.
