I have been doing quite a bit of traveling the past few weeks and every time I go to repack, there is one item in particular that I absolutely need to include. It is a particular accessory that seems to match perfectly with all of my warm weather outfits. Granted, you have more than likely read the title of this post by now and know it is a handbag. The woven bag, whether ropes or fishnet, is everything I desire in a summer bag…and more! I personally feel that it’s the only handbag you need this summer so I’m going to share all the different ways you can last with it until fall.

Make your pick carefully by focusing on the structure and craftsmanship. Think of it as a different take on the current straw bag trend that is taking over the fashion world. If you’re tired of seeing those basket bags on repeat, the woven bucket bag will be like a breath of fresh air!

Evening Out

The look above was one I wore back in Portofino, and is a classic example of how you can work the woven bucket bag into a dressier, evening look. I opted for a neutral matching set with metallic patterns. The ruffle details with pops of shimmer, pointed toe pumps, and large statement earrings all make for a perfect evening outfit. However, I unexpectedly grabbed my Alienina bag and was so surprised at how well it complemented this look. It goes to show that a casual bag doesn’t take away from an elevated ensemble!

Everyday Casual

This look features Staud’s bucket bag which I also own. What’s great about it is that you can take it apart and carry the net portion separately. It pairs great with relaxed linen pieces, denim, or gauze. Don’t hesitate to throw pouches within your net or rope bag and toting it around that way you get a little more privacy.

By the Beach or Pool

At this point, I’ve brought several variations of a the rope and fishnet bag with me on all my trips this summer. They’ve complimented the various sundresses I wore, but are great for the beach or pool as well. The fabric construction means I don’t have to be fussy about damage from the sand or water. And I can throw food, snacks, and clothes inside without feeling bad. It’s seriously such a versatile style!

To be honest, I am an accessory junkie and I have collected quite a few handbags over the years! I am constantly switching them out in accordance with my outfits. But this bucket bag has been perfect for summer and I’ve rarely swapped it out since buying it. I think it’s time you get on board too!
