Fall trends with Farfetch //

With every season comes new trends – and I can’t deny how excited I’ve been for this fall. I’ve posted about my favorite trends countless times in the last few weeks and you’ve probably even seen me wear a few of them during fashion month. But today, I’m going to share my top tips and pieces for putting multiple fall trends together at once. Farfetch is one of my go-to places for gathering both trendy and staple pieces because of its diverse and versatile offerings – and it’s also where I got a some of my favorite items in this outfit.

This season’s trends allow for maximalism because there are just so many cool pieces you can throw together and go. Remember, sometimes it’s ok to stray from the “less is more” mentality. Here’s a guide to get you started on meshing your favorite fall trends:

1. Pick a statement piece.

This Zimmerman Kimono Dress is bold enough to stand out on its own because of the metallic polka dots stamped all over and the flirty silhouette. Having one statement piece like this allows you to strategically work the remainder of your outfit around one theme. Whether you’re highlighting a fun print or a unique cut, you don’t want to create too many distractions.

2. Mix in solid but trendy hues.

With a navy and gold base, I didn’t want to pick colors that would compete with the palette of my dress. That meant opting for solid-colored accessories with minimal hardware. Browns and cognacs are always popular for fall in this case. Notice how my huge statement earrings and sculpted bag are also top fall trends, but they somehow work in this outfit seamlessly? When in doubt, pay attention to your color scheme.

3. Combine high with low and old with new.

Keeping up with trends doesn’t always have to be expensive. I’m a huge fan of mixing old pieces with new and fast-fashion with luxe brands. You can always find great accessories at bargain prices like these Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses – or transitioning a summer piece like an Alice and Olivia floral dress into fall. It’s all about experimenting and mixing things up!

4. Wear it with confidence.

In the end, you will never look good in something you’re not comfortable in. So, whatever you choose to wear, rock it with confidence. And when you’re not feeling so brave, take baby steps – maybe it’s incorporating multiple trends conservatively like a polka dot top with cropped trousers and red heels… Always remember to keep your heels high, but your head even higher!
