I‘ve spoken so much about your wardrobe options when it comes to holiday party dressing; however, I haven’t shared much tips on makeup! The thing about party makeup is you want it to be flattering and festive yet long-lasting. And I don’t know any girl that doesn’t want her makeup to stay put throughout the night regardless of how many cocktails they have or appetizers they eat. I’m definitely one of them!

So no matter how you like your makeup (vampy or natural), I’m going to be sharing with you my holy grail makeup products that won’t budge at your next party!

Primer

Everyone knows by now that primer is essential for long-lasting makeup whether that’s foundation primer or eyeshadow primer. I recommend you use both. If you have dry skin, I think you’ll love Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer or Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter, but if you lean oily, you’ll probably want to try Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer. For eyeshadow, Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is amazing – and it’s clear! If your eyelids are extra oily, you’ll love Bare Minerals Eyelid Primer, which combats the grease forcefully.

Eyeliner

Eyeliner is the battle for most Asians – it’s either running down your eyes or traveling up the lids. Anyone else have this issue? If eyeshadow primer and powder isn’t helping you, it’s probably a sign to switch up your eyeliner. Tarte’s Tarteist Double Take Eyeliner is my top favorite – it’s dual ended with pencil on one side and liquid on the other. Both formulas are waterproof so they definitely do not budge. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner is another great option. For an affordable pick, you can’t go wrong with Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner.

Lipstick

I don’t know about you, but I always love adding color to my lips around the holidays. It makes my complexion brighter and cheerful – and goes right along with the holiday spirit! So, what’s my secret to achieving a lip color that stays put? Liquid lipstick! I’ve become obsessed with liquid lipsticks because they glide on like a dream and don’t budge! My favorites are those that don’t dry out my lips and yet are as pigmented as a lipstick. I’ve already raved so highly about the Bite Beauty one, but check out a few of my other picks below like Bare Minerals Statement Matte Liquid Lip Color or the liquid lipsticks from Tarte.

Setting Spray

If your primer, eyeliner, and lipstick are good, the only thing remaining is a great setting spray. I’ve mentioned a few favorite spritz in the past, but those were more of refreshers. But, I’m talking about setting sprays that actually help keep your makeup in place. For that purpose, everyone needs to try Milani’s Make it Last Setting Spray – and it’s only $10! The only downside is, it can be hard to find. Otherwise, I love Smashbox’s Primer Water and Cover FX’s Mattifying Spray.
