Minimal Nail Art

One of my current favorite nail trends truly reminds you that less is more. I have been seeing a huge surge of minimal nail art that skillfully incorporates a lot of blank space into the design. Whether it be a few geometric shapes or some metallic swirls or even just a few lines and dots, you will totally be blown away by how such little polish can make such a huge impact on the overall look. Since the look is so intricately delicate, make sure you use a long-lasting clear coat on top to seal your minimal nail art in.

Colored French Tip

Similar to the aforementioned minimal nail trend, this next style I wanted to touch upon also cleverly uses blank space. This is essentially the classic french tip manicure but with an updated twist. Instead of the traditional white, a pop of color is used in its place. Everything from blue to brown looks incredibly good. Plus, this style is not overwhelming in color so it will provide some interest without being too loud!

Multi-Colored

Why stop at just one color? This 2021 nail trend lets you use your nails as an artistic palette. Basically, you just pick 5 different complementary colors and dedicate one nail to each. Luckily, this requires no design so it is quite easy to replicate in the comforts of your own home as long as you have a few different polishes to pick from! You can even try a monochromatic scheme.

Ombre

If you find yourself liking the multicolored nail trend but cannot be bothered having all those shades, you could try this alternative. The ombre nail is so gorgeous and can be as subtle or as loud as you want it! For something simple and minimal, an ombre going from ivory to light pink is absolutely stunning. Or you could do something fun and flirty like an ombre yellow or ombre pink.

Embellished

For those you love to go the extra mile, you are definitely going to need to incorporate some embellishments into your nail looks. Jewels, gems, pearls – anything 3D for that matter – you will likely see on someone’s nails this year! Usually coupled with some longer tips (but not necessary), nails with a little of bedazzling are definitely on-trend in 2021. If this is not an everyday look for you, you could save it and try out the trend for an upcoming special occasion!

Checkered Print

Last but not least, the nail pattern that continues to have the most reach this year is the checkered print. This look tends to complement those who love a bit of edge or adore anything with a street style aesthetic. If this looks too complicated for you to try and replicate, you could always try out some nail stickers or get some press on nails! This is an easy way to get salon nails without ever leaving your home.
