Fashion is all about inspiration…  Of course my own sense of style is an ever-evolving blend of channeling fashion icons and legacy with my personality and what’s currently trending. A lot of you guys ask me about how to develop your own signature style. And my best advice is to explore other people’s style, especially tastemakers, existing style icons, or a muse that speaks to you. Perhaps mixing multiple styles is one of the most fun and also telling things to do. Below, you’ll find a list of some of my favorite fashion tour de forces to help you get started on leveling up your style game. I also included some tips on how to dress like a fashion icon!

Gilda Ambrosio & Giorgia Tordini

The reigning queens of street style and designers for the it-brand Attico, Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini have shown that they’re completely unafraid of breaking the rules of fashion and showing the world what truly unique style looks like. Having introduced new ways to wear old items, boudoir outdoors, dresses over pants, and bringing evening glamour to the streets, the Attico girls were born to stand out.

Both Tordini and Ambrosio have their own captivating sense of style, but in order to dress like them, some pieces are key. You must have a robe coat, a staple item Attico popularized to cult-status. Wear it over distressed jeans and a vintage t-shirt for daytime Italian-girl cool – or truly embrace the essence of Attico and dress it up with tailored trousers and heels for an evening look. Next, you’ll need bold colors and textures (feather!), animal print, embroidery or embellishment in the details!

Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo is one of the biggest names and brands in fashion, commonly found sitting front row at fashion weeks across the globe.

Dressing as chic and stylish as Olivia Palermo essentially means being effortless and elegant in the same outfit. Her sense of fashion is classic, with the details or a specific piece nodding to the trends of the moment.

She is often seen wearing a simple white shirt under an accompanying on-trend, patterned shorts, skirt, or statement jacket. She mixes femininity with masculinity and vice versa, bringing the polish to flowy maxi dresses using smart details like a belt – or adding a girly touch to a suit.

Christine Centenera

Another It-girl but certainly with her own taste and sense of style is Aussie Christine Centenera. She is a goddess of fashion and one of the most powerful names in the game. Christine frequents international front rows and is often captured by street style photographers. Although she’s been more under the radar as of late, her personal sense of style is daring and bold while blending a sophisticated disposition in showing her never-ending legs. She loves to rock tailored pieces with tons of structure and unexpected proportions. I love how she brings her own edge to any outfit and manages to make everything look professional but cool.

Miroslava Duma

No one dresses like Miroslava Duma, the Russian fashion editor and goddess of street style who can pull almost anything off. She’s a digital entrepreneur and pioneer of bringing Russian style on the map. Duma’s style is well-tailored and structural, with many coordinating details and colors. Head-to-toe monochrome is a favorite look of hers, as is paired patterns and accent colors in her outerwear and shoes. Think pops of color that feel scattered across the whole outfit. Coats are also a focal point, either draped effortlessly over the shoulder or stealing all the attention as the single focal point with accompanying shoes.

Kendall Jenner

A model career, fashion line, and plenty of magazine covers, Kendall Jenner needs no introduction and is street and urban luxury manifested. She’s young and experimental with a way of making her look both sleek and glam-rock-and-roll. She is a proponent of black and white, higher necklines and higher waists and hems to emphasize the shoulders and legs. She mixes elegance with grunge, luxe with distressed, all the while showing off her silhouette with shining details. Be ready to make a statement because her shoe choice is anything but safe. To dress like Kendall Jenner is to also embrace the hair and makeup finish to any outfit.
