As you all know my stricken with wanderlust. Being constantly on the move and exploring new destinations, I’ve become quite the whiz at packing.

Everyone loves to travel. But ask anyone and they’ll say that they absolutely dread packing. While packing for my recent trip to St. Kitts and Nevis, I realized why I don’t hate packing as much as others. Practice! I’ve had lots of practice with traveling and living from my suitcase, so I know what works for me and what doesn’t.

During my trip prep for Nevis, my packing experience was a breeze. I used the Hartmann Ratio Classic Deluxe Glider™ case, and it was gravy from then on. The Hartmann glider case has clever compartments to stow away my smaller essentials and it has handy partitions to make sure that my wardrobe is organized even before I get on my flight! That’s priceless to me. This case also had a garment bag with exterior pockets for extra storage. That’s just genius! I always make it a point to pack dresses for more formal settings and the garment bag was perfect for that. Plus the pockets are ideal for storing coordinating accessories for my looks.

Here’s a quick peek at my packing list. I broke it down to 3 important groups to keep in mind.

Essentials:
Travel documents
Toiletries
Camera
Sundresses
Light and breezy tops (cotton and linen) for daytime
Long flowy dresses for formal dining

Sun Protection:
Sunscreen and aloe vera
Sunglasses and beach hats
Bathing suits, sandals and beach bag
Bug spray

Extras:
Portable phone charger
Cardigan for the plane
Multi-charge adaptor for all devices

And yes, all of these items fit perfectly in my Hartmann case. I may have had some packing hacks up my sleeve to make it all work. Here are some of my top packing tips:

*Create digital copies of all important documents, passports, booking information (it’s always good to have backup)
*Instead of folding your clothes, roll ’em up! This is a more efficient use of space and still keeps your clothes relatively wrinkle-free.
*Pack socks inside your shoes. This helps shoes keep their shape and means you can fit more stuff in that little suitcase.
*If you’re traveling with a curling iron or flat iron, wrap it up with a small towel. That way you don’t have to wait for it to cool down to pack your suitcase.

Happy trails everyone! Stay tuned where I take my Hartmann case next.
