There is no better way to celebrate fall than to explore and relish in the natural landscape. This time of year is exceptionality spectacular because of the beautiful transition of seasons. The chill in the air and change in foliage make it extra special and definitely worth a visit. There are countless places in which you can go to appreciate Mother Nature in all her glory, whether it be near or far. Even though we’re near the end of October, there’s still plenty of time to take in what remains of fall. Central Park
I am lucky to have places within my own backyard that are amazing for admiring the fall foliage. In such a big, exhausting city, it is a blessing to have dedicated greenery spaces. Although, Central Park is not necessarily the place to go to avoid crowds of people, it is still expanse and full of beautiful spots to relax on a bench and take in the scenery.
Saratoga
About a 3 hour drive from the city, you can find the lovely, tranquil Saratoga, NY. This is a wonderful little place for a quick weekend getaway. Bring the kids and visit one of their local apple orchards or adventure out to Saratoga State Park for a hike amongst the turning leaves. I cannot recommend this spot enough especially if you’re already in New York.

Hudson Valley
If you are seeking that typical drive during golden hour with trees lined up on the road, the Hudson River Valley is the place for you. It’s just perfect if you want a quiet, serene day trip where you can stop and breathe in the fresh air. The Hudson Valley is such an adorable area and has some really cute, local restaurants too.
Vermont
I visited Vermont for the first time last year and loved the incredible scenery.
It offers such a vivid carpet of colors that cover the mountains and fields – there is truly nothing like it. So, if you have some time, round up a few girls, book a cabin, and indulge in the breathtaking views. It’s such a magical place to see, and although I missed out this year, I’m thinking about adding this to my list every year.
Oregon
On the west coast, the PNW in its entirety is certainly a sight to behold. If you want to chase waterfalls, I highly recommend hiking the Columbia River Gorge. Not only does it have multiple falls and is a great place to spot fall foliage, but it also is an incredibly rewarding hike.
British Columbia
Just across the border, you will find British Columbia which is admittedly beautiful no matter what time of year you decide to visit. However, in autumn there are so many different spots to take in all the fall vibes. From Stanley Park to the VanDusen Botanical Center, you won’t be disappointed.

Aspen, Colorado
Colorado’s beauty is definitely heightened in the fall and winter time and makes for a great getaway if you appreciate the great outdoors. There are so many scenic hiking trails and roads that will have you staring in awe and wonder. Just don’t forget to bundle up because it’s quite chilly.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
There is something so magical about Amsterdam and Fall is one of the best seasons to visit. The famous Canal Ring is completely transformed as the trees lining the water are bright bursts of green, yellow and orange. You can rent a bike and traverse through the city and be completely enthralled by the views!
Kyoto, Japan
In Asia, one of my favorite spots to visit is Kyoto in Japan. It’s away from all the hustle and bustle of some of the larger cities and it is a lot more quiet and peaceful. Kyoto is amazing during the fall and the trees really make an amazing backdrop against the shrines and temples.
The nice thing about Kyoto is that the trees come to life later – even through December – which means you have plenty of time to plan a last minute trip.
