October through December is honestly the best time of the year, and now that we’re well into November, I am 100% in my Thanksgiving feels. All the fall decor comes out and I find myself already drooling as I think about the feast to come at the end of the month. Since we are on Thanksgiving go-mode, it is also time to start planning ahead on what you are going to wear. There’s been so much outfit inspo surrounding the holiday lately, so I wanted to throw some unique options into the mix that aren’t just sweaters and sweater dresses. You know know I love infusing some of the season’s newest trends into my outfit, while still maintaining comfort because let’s face it – you need to be cozy to eat a lot! Here are some Thanksgiving day outfit ideas for 2019.

Slip Skirt & Belted Sweater

As far as dress and skirt silhouettes come, I absolutely adore the slip for this type of occasion. Not only does it fall within the comfortability range, but it is also incredibly classy and appropriate for your family gathering! If you are looking to add a little pop of color, swap our your standard black/nude tights for a solid color. Bold opaque tights are definitely trending and a great way to keep your Thanksgiving outfit fresh. Otherwise, try a print on print like I did above and add a belt over top!

2019 has definitely seen a resurgence in midi skirts. The popularity of this silhouette absolutely blew up. Personally, I am a sucker for tulle skirts – they’re fresh, unexpected, and super fun. A graphic, oversized sweater layered over a tulle skirt or dress is the perfect outfit for this upcoming holiday. If you happen to be hosting a dinner at your house this year, you can bet you will be the best dressed host on the block!

If Thanksgiving is relatively laid back and low key for you, let your outfit mirror this. After all, you can be comfy but still look cute! A loose pair of plaid wool trousers definitely provide that fall aesthetic. Keep the rest of your outfit just as warm with some layers. I love layering up on light turtlenecks and chunkier cardigans. To prevent it from looking grandma and more fashion, pair with some statement jewelry. This is the perfect option if you are heading from dinner right to the stores.

Denim Midi & Boyfriend Tee

On the other hand, if you prefer to get a little more spruced up for Thanksgiving, rock a denim midi skirt with a statement tee (love this feathered one) and booties. Denim is one of my favorite pieces to wear, and a long skirt is a great way to switch up your usual jeans look. This combo is the perfect outfit that falls in between relaxed and dressy. Complete with your best party jewelry and sunglasses!

Fringe is back and better than ever. It’s such a fun way to amp up your Thanksgiving looks. Best of all, you can literally throw a fringe poncho or cardigan over anything. Whether you’re a sweater dress and OTK boots kinda girl or jeans and a cozy sweater, this little topper will put on the finishing touches.
