Boot season is officially in – and I want you to think outside your endless options of neutrals. Make way for metallic boots – a trend that has quickly become one of my personal favorites (along with red) because they’re so bold and striking! I know they seem intimidating at first sight because of the high shine, but I’m here to convince you that this boot style pairs flawlessly with multiple outfits you already have in your closet! I truly believe that fashion is something you should look forward to. That’s why it’s important to keep your wardrobe fun and fresh. So, why not let metallic boots be that special touch you need to keep your fall look poised and interesting?

Here are some of my favorite ways to rock metallic boots this season:

Pair with Vinyl

Don’t underestimate the power of doubling up on a super reflective look. The key to making an outfit like this wearable is all in the texture play. Even though I chose to wear patent leather pants with silver boots, I made sure to offset the look with softer textures on top. A soft, cozy knit and fluffy fur vest was just what I needed to create balance. I’m also loving how vinyl skirts look with metallic boots.

Pair with Denim

Denim is the easiest thing you can wear to show off a pair of dramatic ankle boots. I love how metallic boots look against frayed black denim along with boyfriend and cropped jeans. This pairing is excellent for enlivening a plain t-shirt or casual sweater. All you need to do is cuff your jeans!

Pair with Plaid

Plaid is a print we see more often in tailored pieces, which I think looks stunning against metallic boots. It also goes to prove that silver boots can work for the office! Think of it as adding extra polish to a sophisticated look whether you’re wearing gingham trousers, wide legs, or fall’s trendy plaid skirt.

Pair with Dresses

As eye-catching as these shoes might be, they don’t draw attention away from pretty dresses! I’ve learned that metallic boots look great with various fabrics and textures, including velvet, satin and lace. From long flowy pieces to short body-con dresses, metallic boots will take your dress to new heights.
