Described as a friendly East Village neighborhood cafe, The Roost offers a really warm, inviting environment where you could happily spend a few hours. I am a big sucker for their rustic decor and leather couches. They also have 16 beers on tap if that tickles your fancy more.

They are known for paying “tribute to the infinite and evolving coffee culture” and you can see that through their genuine love for the caffeinated drink. They specialize in flat whites and small breakfast sandwiches – which are the perfect combination by the way. At Sweatshop, it was easy to fall into the rhythm with the other New Yorkers also there to work the day away.

If you’re looking to get some work done that doesn’t require a ton of sitting time, then Happy Bones is the perfect spot, especially for quick meetings. I love their glass store front which just floods the entire space with bright light. Plus, they always deliver a delicious cup of espresso.
